There's nothing that beats the smiling faces of 128 kindergartners! Medicalodges Atchison was privileged to have these sweet little singers come and share their music with us. They serenaded the residents with songs they've learned since the beginning of the school year. The darling little ones bring such joy.
Congratulations to Medicalodges Butler's employee of the month, Lucy Franklin. Lucy joined the housekeeping team in November 2018. Residents chose Lucy to be honored because she is a hard worker and they appreciate the way she cleans their rooms. She takes great pride in doing a good job
and always goes the extra mile.
Lucy came to Medicalodges because it's a good place to work and it was a great opportunity for her.
When she isn't working she loves spending time with her two daughters and her husband.
She loves cooking but don't ask her to make tamales...that's a no go...she hates making them!!
A word of advice for her coworkers: "Keep doing the great job that you do!"
THANKS LUCY FOR ALL THAT YOU DO AT MEDICALODGES , WE APPRECIATE YOU! ...
Congratulations Lucy!! What a well deserved honor
She would go the extra mile to find my things that were lost and help get my room smelling good while I was there. CONGRATULATIONS Lucy!

At Medicalodges Clay Center staff participated in a Dementia simulator training provided by the Alzheimers Association. Staff donned glasses covered with duct tape to experience impaired vision, headphones with music/noise to understand distractions, gloves to limit fine motor skills and insoles placed in one shoe causing gait/balance impairment. The participants were then given tasks to complete while wearing the simulated impairments...and NO ONE helps. This was as close to a real life experience to the limitations dementia can create for our residents. Thanks to the Alzheimers Association for a fantastic learning experience! ...
The best training is hands on training! Big shout out to Wichita Fire Dept for teaching staff at Medicalodges Wichita about fire extinguishers and how to use them. We hope we never have to use them but we are prepared! ...
